Are you looking for something to do with your family during free time? Here are some additional nearby activities and attractions:

Kanapali Beach Walk connects several resorts, shopping, and beaches, and is accessible from our resort. It’s just shy of 3 miles one way. It is paved, flat, and accessible.

Along this path, you may notice several cats near the Westin- they belong to a managed colony (which you can learn about here). They love attention, but no treats, please! The big orange one, Sunny, is diabetic.

If you've got kids on your walk, you'll want to stop at the Sheraton (they feed the koi pond at 9:30 am!) and the Hyatt lobby area (which has several birds on their property, from doves to penguins).

Not up for walking? Take the free Kaanapoli Trolley from our resort to several nearby shopping, resort, and restaurant areas. The trolley comes by about every 30 minutes. View the schedule here.

Whaler’s Village is a nearby outdoor mall with souvenir shops, restaurants, and events.

Black Rock Pier (Keka’s Landing) is great for turtle viewing and is located minutes from the resort. Many of the marine animals in Hawaii are legally protected. You'll want to stay 10 feet away from any turtles and 50 feet from monk seals.

Lahaina Cannery Mall is located about 8 minutes south of our resort and features an indoor food truck court that has AC. The mall offers Hula lessons on Thursdays at 2:30.

Olowalu Beach is a great spot to see manta rays. It is located about 20 minutes from the resort. Aim for mid to high tide if you'd like to snorkel. Protective footwear is recommended, and there are no restrooms on site.

Maui Butterfly Farm is about twenty minutes from our resort.  https://themauibutterflyfarm.com/

Maui Ocean Center (Aquarium) is a good rainy-day activity that is stroller-friendly. It is about a 30 min drive from the resort.

The Valley Alley is a bowling alley and arcade (including TopGolf and VR) located inside the Westin. They are open until 11 pm for the nightlife crowd and have a sports bar for the adults.

Maui is great for dark sky stargazing. You can do this right off the beach near the resorts, but if you’d like even less light pollution, there is a local tour guide option. https://fareharbor.com/embeds/book/stargazersanonymous/items/561297/calendar/2026/07/

Want to see the sights but avoid walking? There is a Driving Sightseeing Tour that leaves from Whaler’s Village. It is about two hours long.  https://www.viator.com/tours/Maui/Fun-Open-Air-Banyan-Tree-and-Blowhole-Sight-Seeing-Tour/d671-5579609P2

Maui is known for incredible snorkeling. Here is a map of nearby locations:  https://bossfrog.com/maui/snorkel-map/

If you're into hiking, these were recommended by a local and are about an hour's drive from our resort.

Waihee Ridge Trail is considered a moderate-to-hard day hike that should take 3 or more hours to complete and includes steep inclines. However, you are rewarded with stunning valley and ocean views.

Kahakapao Loop Trail is a 6-mile loop with about 1200 elevation gain that is estimated at 3 hours.

For a less extensive hike, Honolua Bay Access Trail is an easy half mile round trip with minimal elevation gain however it does cross a creek so water shoes are recommended. It is located about 20 ninutes from the resort.
